Research
The PFPC’s research programs are focussed on gaining new insights into the interfacial behaviour of particulate fluids and advanced materials.
The Centre’s multi-disciplinary approach to research typically involves our highly skilled chemists, mathematicians and chemical engineers coming together to carry out scientific investigations, develop mathematical models and create innovative engineering solutions for the processing of particulate fluids and advanced materials.
Research is aimed at examining the interactions between the interfaces of solid-liquid and liquid-liquid systems where the dispersed phase is often colloidal in nature. The PFPC has key research programs in separation science, emulsion technology, minerals processing, ultrasonics, environmental waste management, water treatment, nanomaterials, geopolymers and tissue engineering.
